Reflection on my learning

My own learning style varies. Sometimes I prefer to sit down in a quiet place and read through the notes I have made. Or with History (example) I found it extremely effective to watch a documentary on the specific subject. During my time at sixth form I studied Cisco CCNA. Revision and learning for the course was much more hands on. Personally I found it hard to learn the Cisco IOS Commands solely by reading my notes. I had to go into the lab and configure the routers and switches to get the commands engrained into my skull. With Cisco my learning was very much hands on. But personally I like a mixture of practical learning, reading notes and interactive learning. I find it hard to just learn from reading a book. I find that I will know it, but I won't necessarily understand it.

SWOT Analysis

Strengths:

I am relatively organised and can work to deadlines.

I have strong knowledge in my subject.

Weaknesses:

I sometimes forget things, like books or my keys

I struggle to write very details essays

My writing and presentation can be a bit messy most of the time

I don't like talking in front of large groups and giving presentations

Opportunities:

To learn how to use new software

To meet new people

To gain new skills, like programming

To further my career prospects

Threats:

Sometimes I don't strictly stick to a budget

I can sometimes rush my work

Mentor:

For my mentor, I think I am going to ask my old CCNA instructor as he is an extremely knowledgeable person, approachable and works within the networking field.
